Terms and Conditions - Passengers and Freight
Freight Conditions
Although not normally required, Paradise Coaches may on occasions be required to utilise a luggage trailer on these routes.
Paradise Coaches may utilise other destinations along these routes as set down and pick up points for passengers and freight if required.
Note: The scheduled timetable will be maintained in these cases.
Dangerous Goods
Queensland Transport's policy on dangerous goods is:
"Dangerous Goods must not be transported by passenger carrying buses/coaches in Queensland - unless specifically permitted in writing by Queensland Transport"
Therefore, it is Paradise Coach's policy that no dangerous goods are allowed to be transported on any of our vehicles at any time.
Freight Charges
No items of freight will be carried that have a weight greater than 20kg.
No items of freight will be carried that are more than 1.5 metres in any dimension.
- Standard items (boxes) will be charged at $1.00 per kg with a minimum charge of $10.00 per item for the first 5 kg.
- Non standard items will be charged at a rate set out in the following table. Items not listed in the table below will be charged by the rate determined by Paradise Coaches at its own discretion.

- Surfboards
- Saddles
- Swags

Passenger Conditions
Reservations
Bookings must be made in advance otherwise seats may not be available. If a tentative booking has not been paid and ticketed within 24 hours of scheduled departure, Paradise Coaches may cancel the tentative booking.
Embarkation
Passengers are advised to be at departure point at least 15 minutes before the departure time.
It is essential if you are traveling on the Tilt Train and it is running late that you contact the Paradise Coaches office in office hours or the emergency after hours number to notify us that the Tilt Train is running late as we are only able to wait an additional 15 minutes before departing for our normal schedule.
Baggage
Baggage includes all items which accompany a passenger whilst aboard a Paradise Coaches vehicle, either within the baggage storage bins or carried on board by the passenger.
The total amount of baggage entitlement per person is two pieces (excluding carry-on baggage) and the passenger will be required to pay $8 for each additional piece of baggage. No items are to be more than 20kg or 1.5m in any dimension.
Items that are considered to be "standard" baggage include but are not limited to:
- Boogie board
- Snow board
- Golf clubs and bag
- Golf buggy (separate from bag)
Note: All sharp items must be packed in a damage absorbent type of material for protection.
Prams and Wheel Chairs will be carried Free of Charge, regardless of how much luggage is checked in.
All baggage, including carry on baggage, is the sole responsibility of the passenger and Paradise Coaches accepts no responsibility, and shall not be liable, for theft, loss or damage to any passenger's baggage, whilst in a Paradise Coaches vehicle, in transit or otherwise in Paradise Coaches possession or control.
Any baggage that is left aboard a Paradise Coaches vehicle or at a terminal will be stored at the administration office at the owner's risk for no more than 3 months as per Paradise Coaches policy.
Food and Drinks
Food and drinks are strictly prohibited aboard any Paradise Coaches coach. The only exceptions to this are bottled water and dry foods such as biscuits and chips. No other food or drink will be tolerated at any time.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted aboard any Paradise Coaches vehicle at any time.
Minimum Dress Standard
Paradise Coaches reserves the right to refuse travel to passengers who do not comply with a minimum of dress standards which includes a shirt, shorts/trousers/skirt and footwear.
Personal Hygiene
Passengers must be sufficiently washed and clean prior to boarding the coach. Any passenger with an odour that, in the reasonable opinion of Paradise Coaches, is objectionable to other passengers or staff may be asked to bathe themselves prior to boarding and/or may be required to travel on another service.
Drug or Alcohol Intoxication
Paradise Coaches can refuse to carry, or remove from a service, a passenger who, in the reasonable opinion of Paradise Coaches, is intoxicated by drugs and/or alcohol and who may, or may not, pose a potential threat to themselves, others or property.
Violent, Disorderly and Aggressive Behavior
Violence, disorderly conduct and aggression will not be tolerated. A person may be asked to leave or refused entry on to coach prior to reaching their destination.
If person/s are, in the opinion of staff member/s, violent, disorderly or aggressive towards the coach driver, staff members or fellow passengers, the company reserves the right to refuse travel or to remove a passenger from the service. Such refusal or removal may be enforced for a specified or indefinite period of time, at Paradise Coaches discretion.
Disabled Passengers
It shall be the customer's responsibility to disclose to Paradise Coaches or their agent, at the time of purchasing a ticket, any physical or mental condition that may hinder access to, from or while on our coach. Every passenger must be able to board, disembark and move around the coach unaided or with minimal assistance from the coach driver. Any passenger who cannot do these functions unaided must be accompanied by a carer for the duration of the journey.
Drivers are able to provide minor assistance for passengers where required, provided that in doing so they do not bear the majority of the passenger's weight, and do not put themselves at risk of injury. Passengers must also be willing and able to comply with time restrictions and regulations at meal and other stops.
Guide Dogs
For passengers with sight and hearing disabilities who need a Guide Dog to travel with them, the Guide Dog will travel for free when in the company of the passenger. Subject to availability, an extra seat will be allocated for the Guide Dog.
Service Cancellations
Paradise Coaches services maybe cancelled at any time as a result of natural disasters (e.g. cyclones, flooding, etc).
Unaccompanied Children
It is against Paradise Coaches policy to carry children 7 years of age and under (inclusive) unless they are accompanied by a chaperone. The chaperone can be in charge of more than one child on board the service.
Unaccompanied children between the ages of 7 and 15 (inclusive) will be carried provided they hand a letter to the driver of the service, that has been written by a parent/guardian/responsible adult stating telephone number and address in town of departure, and name, address and telephone number of the persons meeting the child at the destination.
The Company will accept no responsibility for unaccompanied children whilst in transit; however all care will be exercised where possible.
Refunds, Cancellations and Transfers
- All Bookings are Non-Refundable
- Bookings are transferable to another Paradise Coaches service, on the condition that the ticket is transferred not less than 24 hours prior to original departure time and remain valid until used, or for 3 months from the date of first purchase
- All Bookings are Non-Transferable to other persons
